Barbate has some of the most beautiful beaches in all of Andalusia. The all-white radiant town also has a picturesque fishing port. Barbate is especially famous for tuna fishing, which is still carried out according to ancient traditions with the use of the hands and networks. Already the Phoenicians and Romans used the rich fish stock from this coast. For culinary delights you can find on the two-kilometer long beach promenade near the harbor many restaurants. In some of them the so-called “Mojama” is served . This is the famous dry-cured tuna.
